AnantVarn by Gargi

AnantVarn by Gargi is a celebration of India’s timeless artistry. Rooted in heritage and born from a deep love for culture, the brand brings together traditional craftsmanship from different corners of the country — from tribal motifs to handwoven textures, intricate embroidery, hand-block impressions, and region-specific craft techniques that hold centuries of stories.

We work closely with artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations, ensuring that their art continues to thrive in a modern world. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to honour their craft, preserve fading traditions, and create clothing that carries meaning, emotion, and a touch of India’s soul.

At AnantVarn, we blend contemporary silhouettes with authentic craftsmanship, creating pieces that are artistic, wearable, and timeless. Each collection is a small step towards keeping heritage alive, supporting artisan communities, and bringing the beauty of handcrafted India into everyday life.

AnantVarn by Gargi — where tradition finds a new voice, and art becomes a way of living.

The Journey of Anant Varn by Gargi

Anant Varn by Gargi began long before it became a brand. It was born in the soft rhythm of anklets on a young Kathak dancer’s feet — a three-year-old girl who grew up loving movement, colour, stories, and the quiet magic of Indian traditions.

Art was the heartbeat of the home I grew up in. My parents, grandparents, and sisters surrounded life with creativity and admiration for every form of Indian artistry — from dance to textiles to tribal craft. Their love for the arts became the foundation of my own curiosity and the strength behind the dream that would one day become Anant Varn.

Though I spent a few years in the corporate world, learning discipline and structure, my heart always wandered back to earthy colours, ghungroo rhythms, and the stories hidden in India’s heritage crafts. I knew my purpose was calling me elsewhere.

That calling became clear when I visited my maternal hometown — a place of memories and artisans who shaped my childhood imagination. This time, I saw fading traditions, slowing hands, and art forms quietly disappearing. Artisans felt unseen, and generations were drifting away from their inheritance.

In that moment, a promise took shape — to understand their struggles, to honour their craft, and to build a bridge between their world and the one outside.

This promise became Anant Varn by Gargi — not just a clothing label, but a movement to revive, protect, and celebrate India’s tribal, traditional, and heritage arts.

Every piece we create carries a soul — crafted through diverse forms of Indian craftsmanship, from natural dyes to hand-block printing, tribal motifs to ancestral techniques.

Anant Varn is a tribute to the artisans, the belief of my family, and the timeless story of India — where tradition meets today, and art finds its forever home.
